IMPROVING EFFICIENCY IN CREATIVE WAYS

Bandalier’s philosophy of continuous improvement, or kaizen, forms the foundation of our training program. Our team members are introduced to kaizen during their initial training sessions and are encouraged to practice it every day. The effect is cumulative and impactful.
kaizen philosophy

WE’RE OBSESSED WITH CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

At Bandalier, a culture of continuous improvement is at the center of everything we do. At the recruitment stage, we seek out individuals who demonstrate an aptitude for innovation. We prioritize critical thinking and communication skills in our recruiting. Once team members come on board, they are encouraged to be proactive about improving their own habits and workflows, to make their routine more efficient.

FEATURES OF OUR WORKPLACE

Our workplace reflects the new way we’re working today. It’s designed to help make our team members happy and productive – and our clients satisfied.

FLEXIBILITY

Our culture is designed for working remotely. Team members can work from our talent centers in Binghamton, NY, or Richmond, KY – or wherever works best for them. We encourage a collaborative work style, where team members can work in the ways that are best for them.

FEEDBACK

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we ask all of our team members to share honest feedback. Whether that means helping peers dissect a call or telling managers how they can make meetings more engaging, we love hearing fresh ideas from our team members. It’s just one way we foster continuous improvement.

FUN

We try not to take ourselves too seriously. That’s why every day at Bandalier is Take Your Dog to Work Day. And our teams who work in close proximity to each other often get together for lunches and volunteer at local events. Get a glimpse of our shenanigans on Instagram and TikTok.

It's Feedback Friday! Today's feedback was shared by Associate Program Manager Jarren Jackson following an intense company-wide game of Family Feud:

"I love the way Bandalier comes together, across clients, and finds ways to connect. Family Feud was great to play. Keeping the connection with everyone is how we grow. Think small, act small."

It's Tip Tuesday, and we're here with some of our favorite tips for remote collaboration! Our team loves to collaborate and brainstorm together, and we use these tips to make the most of our meetings.

Set clear expectations: what are your goals for this collaboration? Is it a one-off event, or will you be working together for some time? Do you have concrete goals to accomplish, or are you just looking to brainstorm? It's important to get everyone on the same page before the meeting starts. Agendas can be useful, but sometimes a quick check-in at the start of the call works just as well!

Stay flexible: does your idea need to be executed precisely as you've described it? Or is there room to improve it? It's important to stay open to new ideas. Otherwise, collaborating isn't an effective use of your time.

Keep in touch: are you following up with your collaborators? You may have resolved the topic during your first meeting, but it can be useful to bounce new ideas off of each other. Keep that line of communication open!

What principles guide your collaborations? Drop us a comment and share your thoughts!

Congratulations to our most recent Kaizen and A/B Test Award Winners, Matt Alaimo and Jessica Taylor!

Matt's Kaizen Award is well-earned - he's constantly looking for new opportunities to learn. Whether that means pursuing new certifications from online courses or jumping into our call reviews with feedback prepared, he never wastes a chance to improve. Bandalier's team is known for their resilience, but Matt takes it to a new level! No matter what obstacle he runs into, he never stops reaching for new heights. Congratulations, Matt!

Jessica's A/B test centered around a classic sales debate - how fully do you introduce yourself during a cold call? Do you just introduce yourself? How soon should you mention the company you're calling from? For Jessica, the answer quickly became clear - the fullest introduction was best. She found that her listeners were more open after she mentioned where she was calling from. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and Jessica's making the most of it. Congratulations to Jessica on the win!

It's Friday the 13th! The Bandalier team isn't superstitious - but we might be a little stitious.

Some team members are doing little things to bring them luck. Others are planning to settle in for a scary movie.
A few of us are trying to pronounce "paraskevidekatriaphobia" correctly. Did you know that there's a word for the fear of Friday the 13th? Neither did we!

Are you doing anything to mark the occasion, or is today just another day? Drop a comment and share your thoughts!

Happy Friday! Our feedback this week comes from Bandalier alumni Alex Acosta. If you missed his interview, head to our website to check it out!

Part of what Alex discussed was his experiences with Bandalier University. According to Alex:

"Bandalier University was great! It gave me the info that I needed to get started and be successful. But Bandalier University alone wouldn’t be as successful. Having those lessons alongside roleplays creates an ecosystem of training that makes you successful."

Welcome back to Tip Tuesday! We're kicking off the new year with tips for remote learning. With plenty of folks gearing up to start a new role or pick up some additional responsibilities, we wanted to share our teams' recommendations for making the most of online courses.

1. Stay focused! Multi-tasking is tempting, but it reduces your retention. Help yourself stay focused by closing a few extra tabs, and pausing notifications on messaging platforms while you're learning.

2. Use your hands. Taking notes and making sketches of concepts has been shown to increase retention. Some people benefit from taking detailed notes, while others see more benefits from doodling. Try both and see what works for you!

3. Find your pace. Some people learn best in long sessions, while others benefit from shorter bouts of studying. Some people like to research new topics and get some background info before they get started. Figure out your learning style and use it to your advantage!

4. Work with others when you can. Talking about what you've just learned helps reinforce concepts and increases retention. See if your colleagues are interested in taking the same course! Or ask friends if they have time to hear about what you're learning. Look for different ways to have in-depth conversations about the topics you're studying.

5. Make notes of ideas and questions as you learn. It can be tempting to pause an educational video to act on an idea as soon as you have it - but that break may reduce your retention. Instead, jot down the idea and revisit it once you've wrapped up the module you're working on. There might be extra info the will change your idea before the review ends!

Remote learning is a great way to buff your skills - make the most of your study sessions!

It's our first Feedback Friday of the new year!

"I'm loving the mentee program and getting to know some of the new faces around the zoom calls. It's a wonderful experience to be that resource for someone that may be nervous about starting up outreach."

At Bandalier, we want to make sure our new team members have the support they need - that's why we started our mentorship program a few years ago. Our mentors are on deck to answer questions quickly and help our new reps find their footing. In doing so, they help build a sense of community across Bandalier. We've gotten rave reviews from our mentees, and it's always wonderful to see positive feedback from our mentors!

Handling the 'holidaze' can be tough - as the year winds down and the holiday season picks up, everyone has a lot on their minds. Take a few tips from the Bandalier team to lighten your mental load, and share your other favorites in the comments!

Prioritize. There are plenty of deadlines approaching. What do you need to do to hit your goals? What do you want to do along the way? Making your goals clear can help you reach them!

Make time. Set aside time to focus on projects. It's easy to think that you'll get around to everything - but time flies when you're having fun! And holiday celebrations make it easy to lose track of your calendar.

Celebrate! Make time to enjoy your holiday. You've probably been hustling all year - take some time to reflect on what you've accomplished. Make sure you take the time to enjoy smaller wins, too - micro-achievements are a great way to maintain your drive when things feel overwhelming.
